PCG Chongqing celebrates Women’s Month with Flower Arrangement and Candle-Making Workshops
01 March 2025, Chongqing. The Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing joins the nation in the 2025 National Women’s Month Celebration with the theme “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas” through engaging flower arrangement and candle-making workshops.
The workshops, which were also requested by the women of the Filipino community, promoted gender equality and women empowerment through practical skills that can later on provide opportunities for income generation and financial independence. The workshops also provided a safe space where women could express creativity, gain confidence, and support one another, fostering a sense of community and self-reliance.
The flower arrangement workshop was conducted by PCG Chongqing’s Mr. Ricky Bolanio, thereby providing an opportunity to have men as allies in fostering an inclusive society. Meanwhile, participants learned candle-making from Ms. Jocelyn Lagrimas, a member of the Filipino community.
Participants, women and men alike, including friends of other nationalities, also enjoyed a merienda of pansit and puto. END
