Filipino Community in Kunming joins 18-Day Campaign Against VAW, celebrates an Early Christmas
30 November 2024, Kunming, China. The Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing gathered the Filipino Community in Kunming to celebrate the 18-day Campaign to End VAW, emphasizing the theme “VAW Bigyang Wakas, Ngayon na ang Oras!” The Consulate emphasized PCW’s urgency of the advocacy in line with the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Anti-VAWC Act of 20024 (RA 9262).

Ph Consulate General in Chongqing attends the First Shapingba-ASEAN Fair for Investment and Trade
Chongqing, 19 November 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing, represented by Consul General Ivan Frank Olea, attends the First Shapingba-ASEAN Fair for Investment and Trade.
The Shapingba district in Chongqing with its 62 freight train routes is a major logistics hub and center of international freight trains in China’s Western region, serving as a terminal for the China-Europe railway. It is also home to 16 universities, making it China’s largest university town.
Shapingba officials toured representatives from the Consulates General of the Philippines, Cambodia, and Myanmar and chambers of commerce in Chongqing to the SERES Automotive Phoenix Plant, and demonstration sites for the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.
Consul General Olea continues to explore ways to reduce logistics costs of Philippine goods bound for Chongqing and Western China . END
Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing celebrates Philippine National Children’s Month and Filipino Values Month
Chongqing, 16 November 2024. The Philippine Consulate General organized a film screening event for the children of the Filipino community in Chongqing as it joined the nation in celebrating Philippine National Children’s Month and Filipino Values Month.
The Consulate showed Samot-Saring Hiraya: Imagination Through Filipino Stories, an online oral storytelling video on unique and positive Filipino values and games. The video was provided by the Department’s Office of Cultural Diplomacy. END
