Chongqing CCPIT Chairperson Deng Lin calls on PH Consul General Ivan Frank Olea; discusses cooperation for 2025
Chongqing, 13 February 2025 – (Right photo) Philippine Consul General Ivan Frank Olea (rightmost) receives Dr. Deng Lin, Chairperson of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Chongqing (leftmost) at the Consulate General.
Chairperson Deng and Consul General Olea discussed strengthening economic exchanges and practical cooperation, increasing the participation of Philippine businesses in the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, and coordinating trade and investment activities in 2025.
Consul General Olea gave a model of a jeepney, one of the Philippines’ most iconic and ubiquitous modes of transportation, highlighting the role of Chongqing in the manufacturing and automobile sectors. END
Chongqing, 16 November 2024. The Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing held a Filipino community gathering and provided empowerment and up-skilling workshops in celebration of the Philippine Book Development Month, under Proclamation No. 1436, s. 2007, and the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW).
The Consulate hosted Mr. Rhio M. Zablan for the launch of his book, “A Malayan Tale - Pre-Colonial Philippines and its Relations with Southeast Asia, China, and Europe.” Mr. Zablan’s book shows how Philippine-China relations have been since pre-colonial times.
Mr. Zablan is a Filipino news editor with the China Media Group in Beijing with extensive journalism experience from his work as an information officer of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and as aSubstantive Writer/Reporter of the Office of the Press Secretary in Malacañan, Manila. As such, Post also invited him to provideworkshops on drafting press releases and video creation to the members of the Filipino Community and the Consulate’s personnel.
The Consulate also joins the nation in the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence against Women (VAW) and took the opportunity to invite two (2) Philippine lawyers to discuss the salient points of Republic Act No. 9262, also known as the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.
The session on VAW was delivered by Atty Mary Antoinette Garcia Mofar,an Associate Lawyer handling civil, criminal, and corporate cases at the Jugador Law Offices, and Atty Ellison Royce L. Avilla, an Executive Assistant at the Court of Appeals—Mindanao Station..
The Consulate served a Filipino merienda of arroz caldo, tokwa’t baboy, and biko, which were prepared by Xiao Chu Xian, the caterer of Robinson’s Galleria in Chongqing. END.
Philippine Tourism Photo Turnover to Robinsons Galleria in Chongqing

The Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing turns over Philippine tourism wall posters to Robinsons Mall Galleria Chongqing for an exciting new approach to promoting tourism in the Philippines. The Consulate General and the Philippine Department of Tourism in Shanghai (PDOT-Shanghai) introduced a series of vibrant new wall posters showcasing the country's diverse attractions - particularly Cebu and Bohol in connection with the newly announced chartered flights from Chengdu, China to Bohol, Philippines, coinciding with the 2025 Spring Festival/ Chinese New Year.
The carefully curated images capture the beauty of some of Philippines' amazing attractions, and are displayed in strategic entry and exit points throughout the mall, ensuring maximum visibility by locals and mall visitors. The initiative is part of the Consulate’s ongoing efforts to strengthen cultural ties, enhance people-to-people exchanges, and promote tourism between the Philippines and Southwest China.
Philippine Consulate General Joins the First Anniversary Celebration of Robinsons Galleria in Chongqing
Chongqing, 21 December 2024. The Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing, led by Consul General Ivan Frank M. Olea joins Mr. Dave Law, General Manager of Robinsons Galleria in Chongqing, in a cake-cutting ceremony, along with the half-day program of the mall’s first-year anniversary celebration.
Consul General Olea congratulated Robinsons Galleria for its continuous efforts to improve the neighborhood mall.Robinsons invited CKG48, a famous Chinese female pop group in Chongqing to entertain the crowd.
