Philippine Consulate General Hosts Appreciation Dinner for Chongqing Government Officials and Consuls General
16 December 2024, Chongqing, China - Consul General Ivan Frank Olea hosted an appreciation dinner for Deputy Director General Li Mingquan of the Chongqing Municipal Government’s Foreign Affairs Office, and other government officials from Yuzhong District, Shapingba District, Chongqing International Culture Exchange Center, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. The Consuls General of the British Consulate, Canada, and Myanmar also attended the dinner.
The Filipino Community Cultural Performance Group debuts during Paskong Pinoy
07 December 2024, Chongqing, China. The Filipino Community Cultural Performance Group debuted at the Paskong Pinoy, a Christmas gathering organized by the United Filipinos in Chongqing.
The group staged the singing of Piliin Mo Ang Pilipinas, Uyauy dance of Ifugao, Kappa Malong-malong dance of Maranao tribes and the famous Tinikling dance which originated in Leyte.
The Consulate General will officially present the group to the public during the celebration of the first year anniversary of the Robinsons Mall in Chongqing. END
Philippine Consul General hosts dinner for Consular Officials of ASEAN Member States in Yunnan, China

Consul General Bhavivarn Noraphallop of the Royal Thai Consulate General Kunming (right) and Deputy Consul General Ohn Mar Oo of the Consulate General of the Union of Myanmar in Kunming (left) attended the dinner.
Consul General Olea made his introductory meeting with the ASEAN Consular officials and discussed matters of common interest to ASEAN member countries.
Together with Consul General Olea are Vice Consul Jed Elroy Rendor, Ms. Arlene Pascasio, and Mr. Wang Tian. END
Xavier School Visits Chongqing: a sharing of insights and an exchange with Bashu Secondary School
Chongqing, 27 November 2024. The Philippine Consulate General received 106 Grade 12 students and 9 teachers from Xavier School of San Juan Manila, Philippines, a Jesuit Catholic college preparatory school with a distinct Chinese and Filipino character. This is the 20th year that Xavier School has sent different batches of students to China as part of its Xavier-China Experience (XCE). In this year’s XCE, the Grade 12 students visited Kunming, Yunnan, and Chongqing
During their visit to the Consulate, the students presented their group reflections and output of their visit to Kunming and Chongqing, China. The Grade 12 students also showcased their talents in singing and dancing. The Consulate also brought the students to Xi Gua Tea House to introduce the intangible heritage of tea preparation.
