Chongqing, 01 April 2024 – The Philippines, through the Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing and the Philippine Department of Tourism-Shanghai, participated in the 27th Chongqing Urban Cultural Tourism Festival and Intercity Tourism Trade Fair held from 28 to 31 March 2024 in Chongqing.

Organized by the Chongqing Culture and Tourism Association, the Fair gathered nine countries, 12 Chinese provinces and cities, as well as 20 Chongqing districts and counties at the busy Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street in Chongqing’s Central Business District of Yuzhong.

The Philippine booth showcased popular sun and sea destinations while promoting Filipino food, in time for China’s peak travel season this coming summer. Actively marketing Philippine travel packages during the four-day event were Chongqing Wanhao International Travel and the Chongqing Best Service International Travel Service.

“Once again, the Philippines is glad to contribute to Chongqing’s growing reputation as an international city that promotes both domestic and outbound tourism. Considering its heavy all year-round foot traffic from all over China, the Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street offers an excellent venue to present the Philippines as an attractive choice for tourists from Chongqing and other Chinese provinces. The Philippines looks forward to welcoming new and return visitors, especially from Southwest China for unique experiences in our 7,641 islands,” remarked Consul General Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo.
