PH CONSULATE GENERAL PURSUES PHILIPPINE INVESTMENT AND BUSINESS INTERESTS IN YUNNAN, CHINA

25 February 2022, Kunming – In line with its economic diplomacy objectives, the Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing met in Kunming, Yunnan today the officials of the Yunnan Department of Commerce, headed by Deputy Director General Cun Min, and representatives of nine Chinese State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), to explore trade and investment opportunities between one of China’s southwest provinces and the Philippines.

Philippine Consul General Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo delivered an overview of the Philippine economy and Philippines-China trade and investment relations as well as introduced the priority sectors for foreign investments in the Philippines. A dialogue followed the presentation where Yunnan officials and business representatives provided their company profiles and expressed interest in doing business in the Philippines in areas such as infrastructure and construction, energy and power, and mining.
