Clarification on the Lifting of Travel Ban for OFWs to Mainland China
The Philippine Foreign Service Posts in China would like to inform the public of the following clarifications for Paragraph E of Resolution No. 11 dated 12 March 2020 of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF) pertaining to the lifting of the travel ban to mainland China (except Hubei Province):
1. The lifting of the travel ban covers returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who are able to present valid visas and/or work permits, OEC, notarized declaration of their knowledge and understanding of the risks, and other relevant documents pertaining to their current employment in mainland China as may be required by immigration authorities. It also covers Filipinos with permanent resident visas.
2. It also includes Filipino government officials traveling to mainland China on official duty.
3. It does not include:
• OFWs on first-time deployment to mainland China;
• students;
• dependents of OFWs; and
• tourists.
The public is informed that these guidelines are regularly reviewed by the IATF and any changes will be communicated in due course. (END)
